    Peut-on ignorer l'invasion?

- Where is my Vietnam? - Việt Khang
I would like to dedicate this English version to our young hero Viet Khang.
    Who is Viet Khang?
Viet Khang -- born Vo Minh Tri - is a young Vietnamese songwriter and singer in his thirties. He was arrested by the Vietnamese communist authorities on December 23rd, 2011 for simply having composed and sang two patriotic songs ( "Who are you" and ""Where is my Vietnam") emphasizing the concern of the Vietnamese people, facing with the gradual invasion of China. During the year 2011, hundreds of people staged multiple anti-China demonstrations in Vietnam to protest against the Chinese incursions into the Vietnamese maritime borders. Ironically, several protesters were incarcerated or brutally oppressed by the Vietnamese police - without trials. Viet Khang, highlighted these tragic moments in his songs which warrant his arrest incommunicado.
With my limited english skills, I have attempted to produce an english translation (mostly from my french version) that I could sing. I sincerely hope this effort could help spreading the case of Viet Khang to the english-speaking community worldwide. Let's sing for Viet Khang together and pressure the Vietnamese communist authorities to release Viet Khang- immediately and unconditionally. Our heartfelt Thank You!

Where is my Vietnam? (originally "Viet Nam Toi Dau?" by Viet Khang)
Vietnam, my dear! Half a lifetime already passed
    And now I truly know
What a life! When the war has ended
Our Motherland, suffering to witness lives
Ones are poor, others are hungry
    Powerful are rich, dishonest
And now, Vietnam, do you still exist?
The chinese are destroying our homeland
In our seas, many Viets' innocents
Have been killed by the chinese gunmen
    As citizens of Vietnam
    Can we ignore the invasion?
Brothers, sisters, respond to our nation
    men and women, fearlessly
Raising our hands, olds and youngs
    Fight invaders also cowards
    Who betrayed Vietnam
Where is my Vietnam? Where is my Vietnam? Where is my ... Vietnam?

Anh La Ai?

    M'interdisant, d'exprimer

I sincerely hope this effort could help spreading the case of Viet Khang to the english-speaking community worldwide. Let's sing for Viet Khang together and pressure the Vietnamese communist authorities to release Viet Khang- immediately and unconditionally. Our heartfelt Thank You!

Who are you? (originally "Anh la Ai?" by Viet Khang)
    Tell me, who are you?
Why jailing me, what have I done wrong?
    Tell me, who are you?
Why beating me without the least mercy?
    Tell me, who are you?
    Why stopping me from professing?
My love for this country whose people have too much suffering !
    Tell me where're you from?
Why stopping me from opposing China?
    Tell me where're you from?
Why insulting in our native tongue?
    Where is your origin?
    Why cowardly serving enemies?
    Then leaving the mark
That your hands have stained in our blood
    I cannot sit still
    When my country is collapsing
    My people will be sinking
Into thousand years of eternal darkness
    I cannot sit still
For the future of my descendents
    What will be their origin?
When this world has no trace of Vietnam

@ChocoLuverz Thanks for your comments. My goal is to sing for VietKhang, and to expose to the world that the Vietnamese communist regime has arrested an artist for expressing his patriotism. And I have succeeded. With 20,000 viewers, 2000 from Vietnam, these people now know about Vietkhang's songs have been translated in many languages, viewed in many countries. If you join my effort, Vietkhang will be free sooner and you can listen to him singing live. I am sure it is better than a cat., Cheers.

With my limited english skills, I have attempted to produce an english translation (a mixture of french translated words and some english phrases I picked up from the web about this song) that I could sing.

    Terwijl Vietnam gaat instorten

    Waar liggen onze wortels?

ANH LÀ AI ? original music and lyrics: Việt Khang

    SO THEN, WHO ARE YOU?
English lyrics & sung by: Nguyễn Phước Nguyên

I just told the truth 'bout my life,
    why is it a crime?
    There're bruises on my face
'n there're shackles on my arms.

    Why must I be silent
when there's so much to say?
    How long must my homeland
    my freedoms suppressed this way?

    We breathe the same air
yet you sold our future 'n land.
    We speak the same tongue
yet you bow to others' commands.

    You paraded your pride
when in deed you take others' sides.
When it's time to speak up,
    you silenced your people's cries.

    On this land of mine
so many had given their lives,
so much tears 'n blood had been spilled.
How can I ever sit still?

    So then, who are you?
Does this land mean nothing to you?
    Have you no shame
living in a country with NO name?

Việt Khang is a songwriter in Vietnam who wrote the song "Anh Là Ai?" and "Viet Nam Tôi Đâu?" and he was arrested after days of posting them online for merely expressing his love for his country. HELP FREE VIET KHANG AND CONTRIBUTE TO OBTAINING HUMAN RIGHTS IN VIET NAM!!!!!!!!! VIET PRIDE!!!!!!!!
Here are the English singable lyrics:
    Tell me who you are
To seize me, what have I done wrong?
    Tell me who you are
To beat me, without holding back
    Tell me who you are
To keep me, from telling the world
    My love for this land,
Our people's been suffering in pain

    Tell me, where you're from
To stop me, from defending my land
    Tell me, where you're from
To scold me, in my native tongue
    Tell me where you're from
Why do you bow down to their will?
    You'll leave your footprints
As your hands, taint our people's blood

    I can't just sit still
    When my Vietnam comes stumbling
    Our people dying each day
    Into years of eternal darkness

    I can't just sit still
    Watching all my future children
    Lost with no roots
When the world no longer has, Vietnam

This is a video of myself performing Viet Khang's Anh La Ai. This performance is dedicated to Viet Khang, who wrote this song for the love of his country, not caring about the consequences he would receive after publishing this song. Please Comment, Subscribe, Favorite, and Like. This is my first video, and I hope you enjoy it!
This is my second video performance of Anh La Ai? by Viet Khang, but this time you get a different view of the performance. I Hope you enjoy. As Always Please take your time to Comment, Like, Favorite, and Subscribe! Also please pray so Viet Khang can get out of jail ASAP, and that the Vietnamese people can have their human rights.
