Ngày 21/09/2016, tiểu ban Hải Lực (Seapower and Projection Forces) thuộc Ủy Ban Quân Lực Hạ Viện Mỹ đã mở phiên điều trần về Biển Đông, và đã nghe tham luận của 3 chuyên gia tên tuổi. Không hẹn mà gặp, tất cả các ý kiến đều nêu bật thái độ bị cho là quá rụt rè của chính quyền Obama, với hệ quả là đã không ngăn cản được việc Bắc Kinh áp đặt được quyền kiểm soát thực tế trên khu vực Biển Đông.

Trong tuyên bố khai mạc buổi điều trần với chủ đề « Hải lực tại Biển Đông » (Seapower and Projection Forces in the South China Sea), dân biểu Randy Forbes, chủ tịch tiểu ban Hải Lực, chuyên trách các vấn đề liên quan đến Hải Quân Mỹ, đã không ngần ngại đánh giá rằng chiến lược xoay trục qua châu Á-Thái Bình Dương của chính quyền Obama là một chủ trương đúng đắn. Vấn đề là những biện pháp cụ thể và mạnh mẽ để thể hiện chiến lược đó không đủ để chống lại đà vươn lên về quân sự và thái độ càng lúc càng hung hăng của Trung Quốc.

Dân biểu Forbes đã tỏ ý rất quan ngại trước nguy cơ Trung Quốc lợi dụng thời cơ mấy tháng cuối trong nhiệm kỳ của tổng thống Mỹ Barack Obama để « thiết lập một vùng nhận dạng phòng không trên Biển Đông, mở rộng việc bồi đắp bãi Scarborough, tăng tốc quân sự hóa các đảo nhân tạo (tại Trường Sa)… nhằm thách thức quyết tâm của Hoa Kỳ ».



Trong tình hình đó, Mỹ cần phải có biện pháp mạnh để răn đe không cho Bắc Kinh tiến hành các việc đó, và theo ông Forbes, các ý kiến của giới chuyên gia rất cần thiết để có thể chống lại sự hung hăng của Trung Quốc, trấn an các đồng minh và đối tác của Hoa Kỳ trong khu vực và duy trì một thế cân bằng quân sự ổn định trong vùng châu Á-Thái Bình Dương.

Trong các tham luận của mình, các chuyên gia được mời góp ý – từ James Kraska, giáo sư luật quốc tế tại Học Viện Hải Chiến Hoa Kỳ (US Naval War College), và Andrew Erickson, giáo sư tại Viện Nghiên Cứu về Hàng Hải Trung Quốc cũng thuộc Học Viện Hải Chiến Mỹ, cho đến bà Bonnie Glaser, chuyên gia nghiên cứu Châu Á tại Trung Tâm Nghiên Cứu Chiến Lược và Quốc Tế CSIS, tất cả đều đã phê phán một số hành vi bị xem là quá rụt rè của chính quyền Obama trong việc chống lại những hành vi coi thường luật pháp quốc tế của Bắc Kinh tại Biển Đông.

Các chuyên gia đã cho rằng các động thái như không dám gọi các yêu sách chủ quyền của Trung Quốc tại Biển Đông là « phi pháp », hay là việc tuần tra nửa vời bên trong vùng 12 hải lý của các đảo nhân tạo của Trung Quốc tại Trường Sa, đều phản tác dụng, không những không răn đe được Trung Quốc, mà thậm chí còn khuyến khích Bắc Kinh « khẳng định chủ quyền một cách phi pháp trên một số đảo trong vùng ».

Syrian Politician: "WW III Has Begun, And It's Being Fought In Syria"

Syrian Social Nationalist Party representative Tarek Ahmad says that the war in Syria has reached a dead end, with the intervention of foreign powers turning the situation into a chaotic mess. Moreover, the politician says that Syria is just one front in a Third World War being waged by Washington and its allies.

The Social Nationalist Party is one of Syria's oldest and largest parties. Up to 8,000 members of its armed branch, known as 'the Eagles of the Whirlwind', have successfully fought alongside the Syrian Army against Islamist militants, including Daesh. At the same time, the party has remained a key member of the Popular Front for Change and Liberation, a bloc of opposition parties in the country's parliament.

Speaking to Sputnik, party representative Tarek Ahmad said that the military situation in the country has come to an impasse, with the political crisis only fueled and intensified due to the intervention of multiple uninvited regional and global powers.

Commenting on the intensification of the conflict between Damascus, its allies, and the United States, following the US-led coalition's attack on Syrian forces in Deir ez-Zor last week, Ahmad warned that it's important to understand that the US position in Syria is tactical – not strategic.

"The US's goal is not limited to Syria," the politician emphasized. "The Syrian front is not the goal in and of itself. We need to look at this issue objectively, and to admit that a Third World War is taking place in Syria, one which is led by the US and its allies – even if these allies are simultaneously victims as well."

"America's main objective," according to Ahmad, "is to bring any world power that threatens them under control. Consequently, [Washington] is waging a war with these powers; and these powers include China and Russia."

Ultimately, Ahmad suggested that "the lies told by President Obama at the UN General Assembly are merely the continuation of the American 'television show', whose plot consists of the US desire to continue this war. Every US action takes place with the aim of continuing this war for control of the world."

With regard to the recently agreed-upon Russian-US ceasefire agreement, which is now looking less and less likely to be restored, the politician suggested that "Russia always understood that the US-Russian agreement on Syria would mean a US defeat in this conflict…if the agreement was adhered to."

Accordingly, it's only natural that the US struck Syrian forces in Deir ez-Zor, and then (baselessly) blamed Moscow and Damascus for hitting a humanitarian convoy in Aleppo. They could not afford to lose their position on the 'Syrian front' of their global conflict against the proponents of a multipolar world.

Korea is "considering launching a special forces unit to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un," Defense Minister Han Min-koo said Wednesday.

He made the comment during a parliamentary meeting in Seoul after Rep. Kim Sung-chan of the ruling Saenuri Party asked him about rumors of the plan.

Han said the unit will "take action" if the North shows clear signs of attacking South Korea. This is part of the "Korea Massive Punishment and Retaliation" plan (KMPR), a military response announced after North Korea's fifth nuclear test on Sept. 9, Han said.

The KMPR targets North Korean leadership, including its military headquarters, with a preemptive strike that includes teams of highly trained commandos and simultaneous missile attacks capable of precision strikes, in case of the North's nuclear attack on the South.

"If it becomes clear the enemy is moving to attack the South with nuclear missiles, in order to suppress its aims, the concept [of the special forces] is to destroy key figures and areas that include the North Korean leadership," Han told lawmakers.

Meanwhile, KMPR has been described as a part of a "three-axis system" of South Korea's military in response to North Korea's provocations, with Korean Air and Missile Defense (KAMD) ― Seoul's homegrown anti-missile systems ― and Kill Chain, a pre-emptive strike system by the South Korea-U.S. Joint Command.

"The ministry also plans a supplementary budget to bring the three-axis system to completion by 2020," Han said.

US faces 'consequences beyond imagination


(CNN)North Korea went on the offensive Friday, blasting the US for "aggression" in Asia, blaming Washington for its pursuit of nuclear weapons and threatening the US with "tremendous consequences beyond imagination."
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea "had no other choice but to go nuclear," Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho told the UN General Assembly, to defend itself "from the constant nuclear threats from the United States."

Ri's comments came as the US and Asian nations gathered in New York Friday with a fresh reminder of what they consider the gravest threat facing the region: North Korea's announcement this week that it had successfully tested its most powerful rocket engine yet.
The test Tuesday was followed by a US show of force, as the Pentagon on Wednesday flew two B-1B bombers alongside the demilitarized zone separating North and South Korea, setting the the stage for US-South Korea joint military exercises in October that will include a simulated nuclear facility strike.

The heightened tensions, North Korea's steady drumbeat of tests and its nuclear ambitions have put the region on edge and the Pentagon on notice.
"North Korea's unpredictable behavior and capability development also continues to threaten allies and potentially the homeland," Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Wednesday in Maryland. "It's consumed an awful lot of time -- I think it's fair to say -- of senior leadership's time over the past few weeks."
The North Korean minister offered a through-the-looking glass version of the same events. "Only a couple of days ago, the United States has again threatened the DPRK by flying the strategic bombers 'B-1B' over the military demarcation line on the Korean peninsula and landing in South Korea," Ri said. "We will never remain onlookers at it and the United States will have to face tremendous consequences beyond imagination."
Meanwhile, Secretary of State John Kerry met Friday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly with foreign ministers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, a 10-member bloc dedicated to economic, political and security cooperation.
"The United States will do whatever is necessary to defend our own citizens and to honor our security commitments to our allies," Kerry told the ASEAN meeting.
He called on allies to "vigorously" enforce sanctions against the isolated regime and urged ASEAN members to "ensure that the DPRK pays a price for its dangerous actions."
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made a blunt call for international action at the UN Wednesday. "Right before our eyes, North Korea is carrying out a plan about which there can be no doubt," Abe said. "There is no alternative but to say that the threat has now reached a dimension altogether different from what has transpired until now."

5 Killed In Shooting At A Washington State Mall; Manhunt Underway
Police say 5 people were killed after a shooter opened fire inside a Macy's at a shopping mall in Burlington, Washington on Friday evening.

Authorities are searching for the suspected shooter, who they say left the scene at Cascade Mall before police arrived. He was last seen walking toward a nearby interstate highway. Skagit County's Department of Emergency Management cautioned people to stay indoors and "stay alert."

"People fled, customers hid in dressing rooms and employees locked the doors of nearby stores after gunshots rang out just after 7 p.m. Friday at the Cascade Mall," according to The Associated Press.

Biển thì đã chết, rừng thì tan hoang. Tôi thật sự lo sợ cho viễn ảnh đen tối của nước mình. Tuy nhiên, vẫn còn đó những tấm lòng còn thiết tha với vận mệnh đất nước, vẫn còn đó những tấm gương dám hy sinh sự tự do cá nhân của mình để mong gởi gắm đến cho anh em bạn hữu những thông điệp xé lòng. Điều này đồng nghĩa là nước mình còn có hy vọng. Vậy chúng ta ấp ủ niềm hy vọng ấy mà tiếp tục đóng góp cho truyền thông mạng xã hội những tin tức hữu ích, nhằm hóa giải những luận điệu tuyên truyền, ru ngủ của truyền thông độc tài đang được vận hành bởi hệ thống độc đảng của nhà nước nhé!



Hôm nay tôi vô tình vào trang blog dưới đây vì có một đề tài khá khôi hài:

“Học tiếng Hán để cứu sự sụp đổ của Tiếng Việt” là phát biểu tào lao nhất trong năm

Đăng trên trang blog của Trần Đại Quang. (Tôi không thể xác minh được đây có phải là trang blog thật của TDQ hay không). Phạm Anh Dũng, tác giả của bài viết đăng trên trang blog của TĐQ.

Nhưng khi đã đưa đề tài này vào để rồi dẫn đến sự tranh cãi, tôi cho rằng có thể đó là một lối mở màn mào đầu cho những toan tính của đảng cộng sản sau này. Dĩ nhiên người viết chỉ là một bạn đọc, nhưng nếu TĐQ là chủ nhân thật sự của trang blog này, có lẽ y cho phép đăng lên để thăm dò sự phản ứng của các bạn đọc khác. Nhưng thôi, đó không phải là đề tài tôi muốn nói ở đây. Mà tôi muốn nói tới một vấn đề khác.

Như các bạn đã biết, cách đây hơn một tuần, Dân Làm Báo có cho đăng một bài viết của ký giả Trần Nhật Phong với nhan đề: “Tôi Cám Ơn Ông Nguyễn Phú Trọng”. Bài viết này phản ảnh khá trung thực toàn cảnh nước VN và một phần của Cali hiện giờ, (mặc dù vừa mới đọc cái tít, tôi đã hơi giật mình). Tôi hoàn toàn bị chinh phục bởi những luận cứ mà TNP đưa ra. Nó tuyệt đối không phải là những giả thuyết dựa vào sự hư cấu theo trí tưởng tượng của tác giả, mà đó là những thông tin có thật, và tôi là một cư dân sống cùng tiểu bang với tác giả, tôi xin xác nhận điều này.

Chuyện cán bộ cộng sản đưa con em sang Mỹ, sang Âu Châu theo diện du học thì đã có từ lâu, nhưng quyết định “một đi không trở lại” của các quan chức gần đây thì tôi thấy không còn là hiện tượng đơn lẻ nữa, mà càng ngày càng có khuynh hướng trở thành một phong trào. Có người băn khoăn hỏi tôi: “trời, vc qua nhiều quá giành sân lấn đất của người Việt tỵ nạn cộng sản hết làm sao đây?”, tôi cười: “giành gì nổi mà giành? VC qua Mỹ hay bất cứ nơi nào thì cũng là người bình thường, sống và làm việc theo luật pháp của nước sở tại. Sẽ không có sự ưu ái hay biệt đãi nào đối với người cộng sản ly khai cả. Thậm chí có những người đã gây tội ác trong quá khứ, nếu bị truy tố vẫn bị đem ra xét xử như thường.”

Nhưng thôi, đó là chuyện của các quan chức. Đối với người dân thấp cổ bé họng thì sao? Mới đây tôi được nghe bộ GD và ĐT đã ra quyết định sẽ đưa vào bộ môn ngoại ngữ tiếng Hán và tiếng Nga để dạy cho các em học sinh cấp tiểu học. Một quyết định rất ư là ngu xuẩn:

- Bộ Giáo Dục sẽ thí điểm cho học tiếng Nga và tiếng Trung trong suốt 10 năm

Thế nhưng các quan chức thì lại bằng mọi giá đưa con cháu ra học ở nước ngoài:

- Tại sao cán bộ hay cho con cháu định cư ở nước ngoài

Thế tại sao các quan không để con cháu ở lại học tiếng Nga và tiếng Hán nhỉ? Các quan có mưu ‎đồ biến toàn dân VN thành nô lệ cho các nước này ư? Còn nữa, quan chức miền Bắc thì lặn lội đường xa vô tới tận miền Nam để vận động bà con bán đất cho Trung Cộng nè:

- Cán bộ vào tận miền Nam vận động dân bán đất cho doanh nghiệp Trung Quốc?

Những chuyện này tôi không thể bịa đặt được đâu, mà lấy từ báo đảng ra đó. Một sự bày bố rất đáng kinh tởm. Rõ ràng dân tộc VN đã bị bán đứng rồi! Không cách gì che đậy được nữa.

Từ xưa tới nay người VN mình không bao giờ chịu khuất phục trước nạn cường quyền. Những chuyến vượt biển, vượt biên bất chấp sóng to gió lớn, bất chấp nạn hải tặc tàn độc, họ vẫn liều chết ra đi. Rồi đây, trước viễn ảnh toàn dân sẽ phải chịu đọa đày trong bóng tối của nô lệ và nhục hình, chắc chắn người dân sẽ không buông tay chịu trói. Tôi lại hình dung ra những chuyến hải hành trong đêm tối, trên những con tàu mong manh giữa biển khơi. Nhưng thời điểm này thuyền nhân VN chắc sẽ khó nhận được lòng trắc ẩn, vì người tỵ nạn quá đông, từ các nước Trung Đông và những nước đang có chiến tranh khác. Vậy dân VN sẽ phải làm gì để thoát ách nô lệ đây? Tôi tin rằng đồng bào mình sẽ tìm ra giải pháp khôn ngoan nhất để tự cứu lấy mình ngoài giải pháp vượt biên. Còn bây giờ, cứ chuẩn bị…vượt biên thôi.

According to a new report, crime rates are rising sharply in the no-go areas with police unable to react to crimes. Cases of thefts, sexual assaults, and gang violence are rising and Sweden’s top police authority notes the significant increase of migration in the past year and the number of crimes committed have seen a parallel rise, reports Kronen Zeitung

The report even mentions the number of attacks on emergency services workers has gone up as well. Police spokesman Peter Larsson reiterated the news from earlier in the week that suggested some 80 per cent of the police in Sweden were seriously considering a new career due to the escalation of violence and fear for their own safety.

“We do not come to solve crimes, because we are called daily to so many incidents,” Larrsson told Swedish media Thursday. The number of officers quitting the Swedish police force has also gotten to the point where three officers per day on average quit. The police who stay on are subjected to rocks thrown at them and random attacks in some areas on a daily basis.

One case was highlighted to show how the police are having a tough time solving crimes. Earlier this year multiple cars were set on fire by organized migrant gangs in the multicultural border town of Malmo, sitting at the Danish frontier and the first place of arrival for thousands of newcomers who come to Sweden by foot, car, and train. Police say that although over 70 cars were burned over multiple days, they’ve only been able to catch one suspect.

Sweden has become so violent and unstable in these areas that even migrants from war-torn countries like Somalia are considering returning to their own countries. One migrant who fled Somalia 20 years ago said simply that Sweden was a “war zone.”

There have been many suggestions as to how to deal with the increase in crime and the no-go areas. Police have said that increased funding and better wages will attract more officers to the job but some have even more radical ideas.

Incoming World Bank economic chief Paul Romer has said the best way to accommodate migrants is to purposely leave them to their own area in which police would simply not operate. Romer suggested an area the size of Hong Kong for the migrants to be allowed to live under their own rules outside of Swedish society.

Top US general: ‘Troubling’ that Iran military will get US cash

Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford, the nation's top military officer, said Thursday that reports that U.S. payments to Iran will go to the Iranian military are "troubling."

"It certainly is troubling. The more funds that they have available, obviously the more effective they'll be in spreading malign influence," the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

He was responding to questioning by Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), a member of the committee, who referenced recent reports that the Iranian government has approved a law that would allocate to the military a $1.7 billion payment the U.S. made to Iran this year to settle a failed arms deal from the 1970s.

An initial payment of $400 million in cash to Iran coincided with the release of four U.S. prisoners, but the administration has argued it was not a "ransom," and that the signing of an international nuclear accord in January paved the way for the settlement and a release of prisoners at the same time.

Dunford said he was not consulted on the payment of $1.7 billion.

When asked whether it was a good idea that the U.S. exchange cash to Iran for hostages, Dunford said, "on principle, I would prefer that we not provide additional resources to Iran."

Defense Secretary Ash Carter, who also testified, said he was not consulted on the payment either.

"I don't know all the details of it and -- and the chairman and I were not involved in that," he said.

Since the signing of the accord, U.S. military leaders say Iranian naval forces have stepped up their harassment of U.S. forces in the Persian Gulf.

Dunford also said Iran continues to be one of the lead sponsors of terrorism around the world.

"I describe their major export as ‘malign influence,’” he told Ayotte. "I'm under no illusion of what Iran is — is intending to do, nor are we not — nor — we are mindful of the capabilities that they're developing, as well."

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), chairman of the Armed Services Committee, also expressed concern that sanctions relief under the deal would improve Iran's military.

“The administration may have postponed Iran’s nuclear program, but this has come at the cost of unshackling Iranian power and ambition, both of which will grow in the coming years as billions of dollars in sanctions relief is transformed into advanced military capability and support for terrorism," he said.

During his opening remarks, Dunford said Iran and other state actors Russia, China and North Korea were continuing to invest in military capabilities to reduce the U.S.'s competitive advantage.
