Flappy Bird Creator Plagiarized from Nintendo’s Super Marios Bros and Piou Piou

    From http://www.inquisitr.com/1127588/fla...aused-removal/

    Excerpt:
If you compare the Flappy Bird pipes it’s obvious they’re ripping off the art style of Nintendo’s Super Marios Bros. pipes. Even the coin sound effects are extremely similar
    ...
there’s also a 2011 game called Piou Piou that features a big-lipped yellow bird dodging between objects. Considering how lawsuit happy some game developers like Zynga and King have been it’s possible the makers of Piou Piou could sue Dong Nguyen.

    From http://o.canada.com/technology/gamin...e-game-ripoff/

    Excerpt:
Normally, this would be acceptable because video games often borrow features from other games; it’s the nature of the industry. In the case of Flappy Bird though, the game is almost a complete ripoff of a 2011 iOS game called Piou Piou vs. Cactus. It also heavily borrows its sound effects from the Super Mario Bros. franchise.

    Excerpt:
almost everything in the Flappy Bird game was actually a copy. The website also pointed out that much of the art in the game has been copied from Super Mario Bros. by Nintendo.
    ...
even the sound effects when your bird flies between pipes heavily resembles Mario’s coin-collecting sound, describing it as nearly identical. The backgrounds also appear to be very similar to the famous Mario game as well
    ...
Among all the criticism, the most critical could be game play, where the objective of the game is to have a yellow bird go through obstacles, which have been done before in a game called “Piou Piou”.
    ...
Kotaku also said that “Flappy Bird has gotten so big that its creator, Dong Nguyen, told The Verge he’s making $50,000 a day on ad revenue. $50,000 a day! That’s $18 million a year, FYI.”

Fans also criticized Dong Nguyen, the creator of Flappy Bird, as being dishonest, making money for an idea he didn’t even create.

    ----------------------------------------

    My 2 cents:

The creator of Flappy Bird is Dong Nguyen (Nguyễn Hà Đông) who resides in Hanoi. The guy made money by ripping off ideas, graphics, and sound effect from Mario Bros and Piou Piou. Instead of apologizing for his dishonesty and blatant violation of copyright infringements, he put on a boohoo act and pulled the game off the app store. Of course he got to keep his millions :p

He has no guts to issue a formal apology admitting that he was wrong . Hèn . Tệ nhất là bọn vịt kêu óng óng bênh vực nó . Đa số vịt kêu này sống ở các nước văn minh Tây phương và Nhật là những nơi có tôn trọng copyright, nhưng họ vẫn không chịu ra khỏi tư tưởng lương lẹo gian tà <----- deceit and dishonesty are ingrained in their mentality.
