    Thứ Bảy ngày 5 tháng 3: Lễ Khánh Thành Tượng Đài Chiến Sĩ Úc Việt tại Carbravale Park - Sydney

    V/v: Lễ Khánh Thành Tượng Đài

    Trong dịp Kỷ Niệm 35 năm Định Cư của Người Việt Tỵ Nạn tại Úc, Cộng Đồng Người Việt Tự Do NSW đă xin nâng tượng đài Chiến Sĩ Úc Việt tại Carbravale Park lên cao và sửa sang khu vực chung quanh cho đẹp và trang trọng hơn. Tháng Mười Hai năm ngoái, Hội Đồng Thành Phố Fairfield đă chấp thuận. Chi phí dự trù cho dự án này là $90,000. Cộng Đồng đă nạp đơn xin chính phủ tài trợ và đă được chính phủ Tiểu Bang NSW cấp ngân khoản $84,000 qua chương tŕnh Saluting Their Service Commemorations Grant và Community Building and Partnership Grant.

    Công việc nâng tượng đài đă được bắt đầu từ tháng Giêng và được chia làm 2 giai đoạn. Đến nay giai đoạn 1 của dự án là nâng tượng đài lên đă hoàn tất. Cộng Đồng sẽ tổ chức Lễ Khánh Thành Tượng Đài với chi tiết như sau:

    Lúc 11giờ sáng thứ Bảy ngày 5 tháng 3 năm 2011

    Địa điểm: Công viên Cabravale Park

    góc đường Railway Parade và Bartley Street, Cabramatta.

    Re: Unveiling Ceremony of the lifted Vietnam War Comradeship Memorial

    Last year in July 2010, Fairfield City Council gave approval for the Vietnamese Community in Australia- NSW Chapter (VCA/NSW) to improve and lift the Vietnam War Comradeship Memorial in Cabravale Park including incorporation of the names of the Australian soldiers who died in the Vietnam War, renovation of the wall along with improvements in lighting and landscaping.

    The VCA/NSW has completed stage 1 of the project and will be holding the Unveiling Ceremony of the lifted Vietnam War Comradeship Memorial. Details of the ceremony are as follows:

    Date and time: Saturday 5 March 2011 commencing at 11:00am.

    Location: Cabravale Memorial Park
    Railway Parade Cabramatta
    (near Cabramatta Railway Station).

    All members of the community are welcome to attend and participate in this important community event.

    This project is funded by the NSW State Government through the 2010 Community Building and Partnership grant, and the Office of the Minister Assisting the Premier on Veterans’ Affairs through the Saluting Their Service Commemorations grant. Following the conclusion of the ceremony at 11.00am, a ‘Reception by Invitation’ will be held at the Auditorium of the local Cabra-Vale Diggers Club, at the courtesy of the Club.
